Thinking About Switching to Reusables? Here’s What You Should Know 🌸
I know that making the switch from disposables to reusable products like cups, discs, or cloth pads can feel overwhelming. Maybe you’ve thought about it but wondered:
👉 “What if it leaks? What if it’s uncomfortable? Am I too old (or too young) for this?”
You’re not alone — I hear these same concerns from women every single week. That’s why I want to share some real facts, plus a bit of perspective from my own experience helping hundreds of people make the switch.
1. Yes, There’s a Learning Curve 💡
Both menstrual cups and discs take practice. The first few times might not feel perfect, and that’s completely normal. Don’t be discouraged by a leak or two — it’s part of figuring out how your body works with a new product.
💬 Personal tip: When I first tried my own cup, I almost gave up. By the third cycle, I couldn’t believe how easy it felt.
Remember when you started using disposables? That also involved a learning curve. With patience and practice, cups and discs can become second nature — and super comfortable.
2. Cups vs. Discs: The Placement Difference 🩸
-
A cup Size 1 sits lower, in the vaginal canal.
-
A disc tucks up higher, right behind the pubic bone.
Some people love cups because they feel more secure. Others prefer discs for the “barely there” sensation. Neither is better or worse — it depends on what feels right for your body.
💬 Personally, I find discs more discreet on heavy days, but I recommend beginners try Cup Size 1 first.
3. A Unique Feature: Flipping the Disc 🔄
Our FlipDisc can be worn in two ways:
-
Regular position → works like any other disc.
-
Flipped position → creates a small finger groove, making removal easier. Some also prefer flipping on lighter days for added comfort.
Some users also experience auto-dumping (when the disc naturally empties itself while using the restroom). Not everyone does, and that’s okay. The most important part is making sure your disc is always tucked securely behind the pubic bone.

4. Reusables Are Growing Every Year 📈
According to recent market data, millions of women worldwide are choosing reusables.
-
Cups are especially popular with younger users and beginners.
-
Discs are gaining traction for comfort on heavier days.
-
Cloth pads remain a favorite for those who prefer an external option.
Every year, the adoption rate grows — meaning you’re joining a strong (and growing!) community of users who value health, comfort, and sustainability.
5. A Note of Caution ⚠️
I’m not a doctor, and this isn’t medical advice. If you:
-
have health concerns,
-
use an IUD, or
-
recently gave birth…
👉 Please check with your healthcare provider before using any insertable product. Everyone’s body is unique, and your doctor can help guide you safely.
Closing 🌷
Switching to reusables isn’t just about saving money or helping the planet — it’s about learning your body and feeling empowered in your own cycle.
💬 Every time someone tells me they finally feel comfortable with their reusable, I can see the confidence in their face — and that’s why I keep doing this.
And every time a customer says they’re comfortable and happy after switching, it encourages me to keep supporting more women in their journey.
