How to Use Your Reusable Cloth Pads
🩷 How to Use Your Reusable Cloth Pads
Thank you for choosing reusable menstrual pads. You're helping the environment, supporting a handmade product, and making a healthier choice for your body.
🧭 Which Side Goes Where?
Each pad has a stitched groove running lengthwise along one side.
👉 This is the absorbent side and should always face your skin.
The plain side or printed fabric is the non-absorbent side, which sits against your underwear.
Secure your pad with the snaps or hook-and-loop buttons on the wings.
For wingless pads, use fitted underwear to hold the pad snugly in place.
🎨 Stitch Color Guide
- Blue = Light flow or discharge
- Orange = Medium flow
- Green = Heavy flow
- Purple = Heavy flow with wing protection
- Yellow = Thong (Tanga)
💡 Night Pads Orientation: The colored stitch should be placed toward the front of your underwear.
🧼 Before First Use
Pads are not prewashed. The tight knit of the fabric needs to loosen with a wash to improve absorbency.
Always wash your pads before first use to activate performance.
🚿 Care Do’s & Don’ts
- Wash in warm water on a regular cycle with like colors
- Avoid gentle cycles — they may not clean the pads thoroughly
- No fabric softeners or dryer sheets (these leave residue that blocks absorption)
- Avoid detergents with softener in the formula
- Dry on low heat or hang to air dry
- Do not iron or bleach
- For stains, hydrogen peroxide works well
- Night pads may take longer to dry — finish with air drying if needed
